Who is the Holy Spirit? Following last week's episode on God, Dr. Tim Gray welcomes Dr. Mark Giszczak to discuss the commonly misunderstood person of the Trinity. Dr. Giszczak speaks on the etymology of the word "spirit" and different images of the Holy Spirit in Scripture. The gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit are differentiated while Dr. Giszczak and Dr. Gray answer questions about the third person of the Trinity.

Mark Giszczak

Dr. Giszczak specializes in Old Testament Wisdom Literature as well as biblical theology and Catholic biblical interpretation. He joined the Augustine faculty in 2010. Dr. Giszczak has a passion for Scripture and loves helping Catholics read, pray, and understand the Bible.

His forthcoming publications include a commentary on Wisdom of Solomon in the Catholic Commentary on Sacred Scripture Series and an article titled “The Quest of the King in the Wisdom of Solomon,” in the Journal for the Study of the Pseudepigrapha. He also recently published scholarly articles titled “The Rhetoric and Social Practice of Excommunication in 2 Thessalonians 3:6—15,” in the Catholic Biblical Quarterly, and the “The Canonical Status of Song of Songs in m. Yadayim 3.5,” in the Journal for the Study of the Old Testament. He authored Light on the Dark Passages of Scripture (Our Sunday Visitor Publishing, 2015).
